Line Editing focuses on sentence by sentence to increase your manuscript’s readability. While it might find inconsistencies and errors like eye or hair color mistakes, the focus is on word choice, some grammar, readability, etc.

Copy Editing focuses on spelling, grammar, punctuation, and other such things. It should be one of the last edits completed on a manuscript.

Proofreading is the last stage before publication and catches typos, errors or inconsistencies in formatting and other such minor things. It should be completed on a near-ready-to-publish manuscript.
